Wow, I found this bean by accident and I love it. If you drink black coffee you’re going to love this sweet bean and its amazing crema. Nebilyer honey coffee refers to a coffee bean variety processed using the “honey process” method, originating from the Nebilyer Valley in Papua New Guinea, known for its sweet and juicy flavor profile. The “honey process” involves leaving some of the fruit pulp on the coffee beans during drying, resulting in a sweeter and juicier flavor compared to the washed process. The coffee is grown at altitudes ranging from 1,350 to 1,550 meters above sea level. Nebilyer honey coffee is known for tasting notes of tea, red berries, green tea, chocolate, and juicy sweetness.
Nebilyer Plantation focuses on high-quality coffee production while also being socially-minded, with 98% of employees coming from surrounding communities.
This bean is now proving popular as a single origin. The flavor comes through in milk drinks and is very smooth. I prefer a lot of punch to my coffee so when drinking this bean as a single origin I usually make a double shot with 18g basket and run 30mls. There are no ugly flavors at all so don’t be afraid to pull a strong shot.
