Adding a pressure Gauge to the E61 Group – its easy and worth the effort

So you’ve got a traditional e61 coffee machine without a pressure gauge on the group. Do you not wonder what pressure that most excellent coffee you made this morning was brewed at. How do you know you’ve got the grind right apart from the pour rate? Are you not blind to this most important parameter, brew pressure?

Yes you are?

Here’s how you fix it!

Firstly, go and purchase your self the group gauge. It should come with a teflon washer. If it doesn’t we mucked up.

1. Remove the hex bolt from the group

2. Clean away any scale debris

3. Insert teflon washer we supplied

4. Add a little thread tape and/or thread lock to the gauge stem

5. Screw in the gauge stopping when it feels tight and its orientated correctly

Job done!
